We secured the TLDs that belong to Queensland — .queensland, .qld, .brisbane, .surfersparadise, .gold-coast, and .brisbane2032 — and made them available to every Queenslander from $5, permanently.

A TLD (Top-Level Domain) is the extension at the end of a web address. .com, .org, and .com.au are traditional TLDs. .queensland, .qld, and .brisbane are Queensland Foundation's onchain TLDs.

When you claim a Queensland Foundation address — like yourname.queensland — "yourname" is your SLD (Second-Level Domain), and .queensland is the TLD we own and manage.

Onchain means your domain ownership is recorded on the blockchain — a permanent, public, tamper-proof record. Unlike traditional domains where a registrar holds your domain on your behalf, an onchain domain is stored in your crypto wallet and controlled entirely by you.

No registrar can take it. No renewal can expire it. It's yours permanently — like owning a piece of digital real estate, not renting it.

Queensland Foundation currently offers six TLDs: .queensland (the flagship), .qld (official abbreviation), .brisbane (the capital), .surfersparadise (iconic destination), .gold-coast (Australia's playground), and .brisbane2032 (reserved for the Olympic Games).

Yes. Once you claim a Queensland Foundation address, it's recorded onchain permanently. There are no renewal fees, no expiry dates, and no registrar who can revoke it. Your domain is yours — like property, not a subscription.

Yes. Your Queensland Foundation domain is a fully transferable digital asset. You can sell it, gift it, or pass it down — just like any other onchain asset. Full control, no intermediary, no permission required.

Absolutely. You can claim as many Queensland addresses as you want — across any of our TLDs. Many early adopters are claiming their name across multiple TLDs (yourname.queensland, yourname.qld, yourname.brisbane) to secure their identity across the full Queensland namespace.

Queensland Foundation domains are registered onchain via Freename, which operates across multiple blockchains including Polygon and other EVM-compatible networks. Your domain is recorded as an NFT in your wallet — permanent, immutable, and verifiable.

Freename is the onchain domain marketplace and infrastructure provider that powers Queensland Foundation's TLDs. It's the platform where you search, buy, and manage your Queensland domain. Queensland Foundation owns the TLDs; Freename provides the technical infrastructure.

Yes. One of the key features of onchain domains is the ability to use your domain as a payment address. Instead of sharing a long wallet address, you can simply say "send to yourname.queensland." This feature works with compatible wallets and is expanding across the Web3 ecosystem.

.brisbane2032 is Queensland Foundation's permanent onchain TLD secured for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is reserved for institutional stakeholders with a direct connection to the Games — including organising committees, official sponsors, government bodies, and media partners.

.brisbane2032 is not available for general public registration. Access is by institutional enquiry only. If your organisation has a legitimate connection to the 2032 Games, please contact us to discuss access.
